I would not advise trying to do more than one part of the mrcp at a time mrcp part 1 tests knowledge part 2 utilisation of knowledge paces demostration of skills take one part at a time if you attempt more than one it will complicate matters where books are concerned read a textbook like kumar and clark as your primary textbook for revision of basic science use the book by easterbrook use reference books like oxford textbook only for important topics ( reference not detailed reading ) use other resources like the web when needed and attend lectures when the opportunity arises I have written a new book called keys to success in medicine this consists of short notes on important topics for rapid revision you can easily go through this several times before the exam and it is in format that allows you to add your own points as required I would recommend that you use this book as your primary notebook for revision it will carry you through part 1 , part 2 and paces as important topics that occur in all 3 parts are covered
