I think best answer is barium swallow hmmespecially we suspect from scenario achalasia

for dysphagia the first investigation should be an endoscopy to exclude malignancy 
achalasia may also be diagnosed on endoscopy but a barium swallow and manometry would be performed to confirm one's findings
