My book on clincal methods: "ACES for PACES Advanced Clinical Evaluation System for Practical Assessment of Clincal Examination Skills" has been  published.

It is available on amazon and may be obtained from bookshops as well ( they may have to order from wholesalers such as Bertrams and Gardners)

Please visit my other website: www.acesforpaces.com and check out the book.

I hope that this book will help you in studying for exams such as MRCP, other postgraduate exams, PLAB, finals etc and I also hope that it will also help in improving clinical skills for practising doctors.

Please feel free to feedback either here or on the shoutbox on the ydr website

Best Wishes

Dr. Ajith Jayasekera

Dear Shakir,

Thank you for your comments. I am grateful.I assume you work in the NHS in the UK .  The PACES examination would appear daunting but if approached correctly should not be too difficult. The main focus at this point in time should be correct method. The book goes through this in great detail. Read , practice , read again and practice again. Endless practice is the key. Try and persuade a senior colleague to observe your technique and feedback with constructive criticism. If this is not possible team up with a colleague who is taking the exam. History and communication skills are crucial . Again the book contains detailed methods. Read and practice. If you are lucky enough to have the help of a colleague ask them to observe and feedback. If there are any questions post them on the forum.I am not very keen on posting contact details on an open forum as this information may be accessed by anyone.

Regards

Ajith Jayasekera

thank you for your prompt response. my email is rshk9@aol.com. the reason why i am keen in getting some advice is that i have tried paces three times failing with 2 or 3 marks. i donot want fail again. not that i am boasting about your work. it soon could become a bible for doctors especially dealing with paces

yours sincerely

shakir
